thunder from down under vs. chippendales

 VS.

no contest.

thunder from down under wins my recommendation.

now, fundamentally both are pretty much the same.  greased up guys with amazing bodies… and okay faces, gyrating and dry humping things in a hilariously sexual manner.  cheesy dance routines and tear away pants.  both shows cost almost $40 a ticket with service charges.

but here’s the differences.

the thunder from down under had accents.  thumbs up for that.  although i must say, i’m generally not a fan of the aussie males (and yes, i know this is a generalization, but this is just my opinion) most of the aussie guys i’ve met have been misogynist chauvinist pigs, and totally turn me off.  but i do like a good accent… so in the fantasy world, these guys win over the chippendales guys.

money.   now keep in mind i already paid $40 to get in.  plus doubles at the casino are $9 each.  so i’ve sunk a fair amount of cash into this night.  thunder from down under cost me NOTHING else.  the dancers came through the crowd, danced on the tables, let you touch their junk (seriously) and took a couple of ladies on stage to get a lap dance.  the only thing that TFDU charged for was if you wanted a polaroid with the guys after the show, it was $10.

chippendales was a ridiculous cash grab before the guys ever went on stage.  they went through the crowd and sold the opportunities to go on stage.  $20 a pop.  and then during the show, the announcer said “if you want a sexy dancer at your table, get those bills out ladies!”  and so a dancer wouldn’t even come near you unless you were waving a bill.  (keep in mind, that’s at least a $5 bill, since this ain’t america and we have no singles).  and then of course after the show there were polaroids available for $10 each as well.

all the money grubbing just totally turned me off.  it took all the fun out of it for me.

so for those reasons, my official recommendation of male strip shows, goes to thunder from down under.

in fact, TFDU is coming back to town, and i might even go see it again.

  3. Hi,

I thought you may be interested – we did a segment on the boys at ‘Thunder’ for our new TV show.
I’m the Exec Producer – it’s called ‘Lawrence of America’ – airs tomorrow night (Tues) at 11pm eastern – on the Travel Channel. Lawrence dances with the boys.

    Here’s a link to a clip of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-O6n_C6ECc&feature=user

And speaking as an Aussie male – we’re not all pigs!

Thanks – and obviously I’d be grateful if you spread the word about this clip, and our show!
    Tim
PS – feel free to email if you have any questions.
